The second Planting for the Future initiative, a collaborative project between the Bensaude Group and the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, until 2025, took place on the 23rd of March to celebrate World Tree Day.
This event was held in the Furnas Protected Landscape Area (a parish of enormous sentimental value to the Group), part of the São Miguel Island Natural Park, with the aim of promoting an increase in biodiversity and improving ecosystems, contributing to the recovery of the water quality of the Furnas Lagoon, enhancing landscape diversity and contributing to the environmental protection/valorisation of the river basin.
The project was born out of an expression of interest and environmental concern by the Bensaude Group, which aims to protect and develop the richness, biodiversity and quality of the ecosystems of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
The initiative brought together the Group's employees and their families, as well as members of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, who also joined in a picnic and other activities that complemented the celebration of World Tree Day.
The aim of this event is to strengthen and reinforce the umbilical bond that this Group, its employees and the Bensaude Family have with the Azores and the Azoreans.
