The award ceremony of the "100 largest companies of the Azores" was held at the Hotel Marina Atlântico on December 7th. This ceremony pertains to the year 2016 and is organized by Açormedia with the participation of a specialized jury.
In this ceremony, Bensaude, SA was considered the best company in the Azores, and it serves as a shared service center for the various companies of the Bensaude Group, namely in the Financial, Administrative, Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology and Systems and Marketing Communications. This company is also responsible for the activities related to real estate transactions, namely facilities owned by the Group Companies.
As the Group's Corporate and Shared Services Center, Bensaude, S.A. has as its Mission:
- Support the managers of the business areas in defining the most appropriate strategies for the development of their business, seeking to promote synergies and integration/communication among them, in order to contribute to the Group's Management objectives;
- Provide quality services in the shared areas of the various businesses, thus helping to optimize their operational management, seeking, whenever possible, to promote the standardization/streamlining of procedures and practices in a way to maximize available resources."
In total, there were four Bensaude Group companies, awarded among the 10 best companies in the Azores: Bensaude, SA; HTA- Hotels and Tourist Animation, Açoreana DMC – formerly known as Açoreana Travel Agency - and Varela and Cª.
In the category of "10 Biggest Companies," the Bensaude Group received awards for INSCO-Insular de Hipermercados and J.H.Ornelas and Ca., Sucessores, Lda.
Also on the podium of the Top 10 companies by industry:
- in the Commercial sector, once again - Insco-Insular de Hipermercados;
- in the Distribution and Fuels sector - J.H.Ornelas and Ca., Sucessores, Lda and BENCOM - Fuel Storage and Trading;
- In the Transportation, communications and Energy sector - Açoreana Mutualista de Transportes Marítimos, S.A. and lastly;
- in the Tourism and Services sector - HTA-Hotels, Tourism and Animation of the Azores. "
The Bensaude Group thus affirms itself not only as the largest private business group in the Azores, but also as an example of best practices and its commitment to the Azores Islands and the Azoreans.
